Bihar needs no introduction.we all know Bihar very well. We have seen them in our next door neighbours who are fond of litti chokha and chhath Puja, and the pan spitting side actors of the Bollywood films and walked past them,rooling our eyes. But then their is much more to Bihar than what meets the eye. Bihar comes from Sanskrit word "Vihaar", which means home and literally it has been home to some of the most important historical figures, discoveries and inventions. 2.  Some of India's Greatest Emperor belongs to the state of Bihar, Namely Ashoka, Vikramaditya and Chandragupta.


3. Shri Rajendra Prasad was the first President of India, who was born in Bihar.




4. The Government of Bihar has launched the world's longest free Wi-Fi Zone in patna in 2014 . Its Range is 20km.


5. Nalanda University is one of the oldest University in the world, which attracted students from all over the world in Ancient times.




6. Lord Mahavira, The Last Jain Tirthankara was born in Bihar.


7. Lord Buddha,who went on to find Buddhism, The religion of Non- violence attained enlightenment under Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya .




8. Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Bilas Paswan holds a Guinness World record for winning with a margin of 4.24 lakh votes in 1977 when he won the Hajipur Constituency.



9. The first instance of Booth capturing in India was recorded in 1957 in the general election of Bihar. Booth capturing becomes so Rampant that political parties began hiring then Begusarai Don Kamdeo Singh to capture Booths.


10. Munger is India's oldest city producing Guns Since 1800s.



11. Chhath Puja is one of the main celebration of Bihar and is the only vedic festival celebrated in India.
